Men’s Ministry
The Men’s Ministry of South Baptist Church is committed to providing encouragement and resources for men who desire to strengthen their relationships with God and others. Regular fellowship and ministry opportunities are planned throughout the year.
Men’s Small Groups
Men… Are you interested in spiritual growth?
- Small Groups are currently meeting!
- Don’t miss out on a great opportunity to be challenged and encouraged spiritually on a regular basis!

Accountability Groups
Accountability Groups involve prayer & praise, fellowship, a strong focus on accountability, and Biblical application focused on spiritual growth from a men’s perspective.
- Preparation is very minimal, typically a short article or devotion to read on a given topic.
- Groups are more oriented toward discussion and Biblical application rather than in-depth study.
- Commitment to the group is required.
- Sign-up is required.
Study Groups

- Preparation will involve some reading and questions.
- Groups are more oriented toward Bible study on a given topic.
- Commitment to the group is encouraged.
- Sign-up is not required, but helpful for planning purposes.
Men’s Prayer Partners
This group of men, who serve on a rotating basis, meet during the Sunday School hour each week to pray for our pastors and for the Sunday ministries, as well as other special prayer needs.
Men’s Issues Seminars
These periodic sessions, whether live or via video, focus on issues of great importance to men who want to make a difference in their world! Past sessions have dealt with modeling one’s life after Christ, personal purity, and a man’s leadership role in the family.
Special Breakfasts
Fellowship breakfasts are designed to provide men with opportunities to introduce their friends to Jesus. Speakers of special interest to men present God’s offer of eternal life in creative, non-threatening ways. Prayer breakfasts allow time for men to pray about a variety of issues.
Sports Events
The Detroit Pistons, Detroit Tigers, and Lansing Lugnuts host games just a short drive from the church. Each sports outing differs in focus from outreach, to fellowship, to taking the opportunity to encourage a young person who needs a lift!
Father & Children Activities
From the Father & Son Retreat at Lake Ann Camp, to “Thank Heaven for Little Girls” Day, opportunities are afforded for dads to spend some “bonding” time with their children.
Work Days
Providing encouragement and practical service, our men meet to perform maintenance and repairs for the single ladies in our church family. If you know of a need, or would like to provide a service for someone, please be sure to let the church office know.
